this post is about the energel *ink*, not any of the pen it comes in.
this post is gonna be really uninteresting. i did tons of looking around and stuff, and i simply concluded that energel 0.5 needle tip was my best go that fit every criteria i wanted it to. it's kinda just, perfect? not too thick, not too fine, just smooth enough to feel good, just scratchy enough for me (this is weird but i actually *like* the scratchiness of a pen when it isn't overdone, it gives me feedback), it draws line really well, ergo it dries fast and doesn't smudge, it's cheap enough, it's really popular so it will fit into most pen shapes (let's talk about it), it's just.. perfect. the pilot v ink is shit dont @ me
even though i did say most pens would fit it, i wanted to find a really good pen body. something made out of metal that could last forever. turns out i wanted a machined pen but wasnt willing to drop €200 on a real good one lol. i bought a zebra f701 without reading reviews cuz it was 10 bucks and it didnt fit. also the ink on this one is actually shit ew ew i hate water based ink. eventually i bought a pentel hexreform. i figured that hey, it was cheap enough, and it definitely would fit cuz its energel ink. and it's.. strangely slippery? it's nice and green tho. but oh my god it's slippery. 0 grip on this thing. if it wasn't hex shaped i would genuinely not be able to use it. the cap has a nice and satisfying popping noise. the clip is fucking useless. i don't use so that's ok. it's EXTREMELY short, like i did not even think it being short could be a problem i would face, but it is short, man. my only complaint is the weird velvet texture it has? it's so weird. but otherwise it's a good body. oh and also the tip part that u unscrew to load ur ink in has scary like, metal churning squeaky noises? it feels extremely uncomfortable. it has a nice heavy weight, i don't really know where the center of gravity is but that's fine.
